Welcome to the Anti-Ragging Cell at East Calcutta Girls’ College, a dedicated initiative aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of every student on our campus. We are committed to creating an environment where every student feels secure, respected, and free from the menace of ragging. Our Anti-Ragging Cell functions with utmost vigilance and responsibility. We strictly adhere to the guidelines and regulations set forth by the UGC to prevent and address instances of ragging. We leave no stone unturned in eradicating this harmful practice from our college community.

Our mission is threefold:

  1. Prevention: We conduct extensive awareness campaigns and orientation programs for both students and staff to promote a culture of zero tolerance towards ragging. We educate students about the consequences of engaging in or tolerating ragging activities.
  2. Reporting: We provide multiple channels for students to confidentially report any incidents or concerns related to ragging. We ensure the protection of complainants and take prompt action on reported cases.
  3. Counseling and Support: We offer counseling and support services to victims of ragging, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

At East Calcutta Girls’ College, we firmly believe that a safe and respectful campus environment is essential for academic growth and personal development. We invite all members of our college community to join hands with the Anti-Ragging Cell in creating a harmonious and secure campus for everyone. Together, we can eradicate ragging and promote a culture of empathy, respect, and inclusion.

Fortunately, no cases of ragging have been reported till date.
