The Department of Political Science in the college was established in 1992 by the affiliating University during the formative period of the institution. Initially, the Department started with one teacher and few students, but gradually it expanded and developed to become one of the largest in the college. Today, the Department of Political Science has three full time faculty members and two Government part time teachers. Honours course was introduced in 2001. There are a total of 48 Honours’ students and more than 300 General students in the CBCS and traditional annual system combined. The CBCS semester system was introduced in 2018. The teachers and students of the Department are well informed and they actively participate in different events like debate, quiz, youth parliament, local tours and extension activities on a regular basis. The Department has ICT enabled class rooms , a small departmental library and other facilities. Some of the alumnus of the Department have joined post graduation courses, school service and government as well as private organizations.
