The department started in 1992. It offers only general course in Chemistry at the UG level under both annual system and CBCS. The students of Zoology (Hons.) and Botany (Hons.) mainly opt for Chemistry as a general subject. At present the department has approximately fifty six (56) students in annual and CBCS combine. The department at present has two full-time teacher, one skilled laboratory attendant, a laboratory and a departmental library.
