Perspectives on Society, Sustainability and Innovation: An Interdisciplinary Journal is an Online, Peer-Reviewed and Open Access journal published by East Calcutta Girls’ College, Kolkata, affiliated to West Bengal State University. The journal was initiated in 2026 for research publications in both English and Bengali, as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which encourages research in vernacular languages to make education and scientific knowledge more accessible. The main aim of the journal is to provide a platform for academic discussions and the development of ideas that involves the departments of humanities, social sciences, commerce and management, but not restricted to only these subjects. The journal complies with the parameters suggested by UGC and is proposed to be published bi-annually with an ISSN for approval from competent authorities to be considered in Career Advancement Schemes. The ISSN registration is in process and contributors will receive academic credits once it is granted. The journal intends to generate a stand for innovative research that integrates different research methods and attaches social research to scientific development, local and regional research to international perspectives, and contextual theories to practical applications. The journal focuses on interdisciplinary incipient issues like sustainability, social equity, cultural change, and new development theories. Special importance is given on the provincial framework of the developing issues. The journal strives to create a research friendly space for students, scholars, researchers, educators, and practitioners to present their theoretical and empirical work, review articles, and case studies. All submissions are subjected to hard peer review and guidelines for research ethics are to be strictly maintained. The publications should promote a culture of research integrity and interconnectedness to solve real-world challenges.
