Internal Complaints Committee

The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, often abbreviated as the POSH Act, is a comprehensive legislation enacted in India in 2013. The internal complaints committee plays a crucial role in implementing the provisions of the act and creating a safe and harassment-free workplace environment.

2. Roles and responsibilities
 
      a. Receiving complaints.
      b. Conducting inquiries into the complaints in a fair and impartial manner.
      c. Providing opportunities for both the complainant and the respondent to present their cases.
      d. Maintaining confidentiality throughout the inquiry process.
      e. Making recommendations for action based on the findings of the inquiry.
      f. Submitting an annual report to the employer regarding the complaints received and action taken.
 
3. Procedures: The ICC follows procedures outlined in the act for the receipt, inquiry and resolution of complaints. These procedures ensure that complaints are handaled sensitively and efficiently with due regard for the rights and dignity of both the complainant and the respondent.
