Nabanna Scholarship (West Bengal)

Key Objectives

  • Provide financial aid to meritorious students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Support students in pursuing education across multiple levels, including Higher Secondary and Postgraduate courses.
  • Ensure equality and accessibility in education for all students in West Bengal.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
  • Must have passed the most recent examination from a recognized board or university in West Bengal.
  • For Higher Secondary: Minimum 50% – less than 60% marks in Madhyamik (Class 10).
  • For Undergraduate: Minimum 50% – less than 60% marks in Higher Secondary (Class 12).
  • For Postgraduate: Minimum 50% – less than 53% marks in Graduation.
  • Annual family income should not exceed ₹1,20,000.
  • Not receiving any other government or private scholarship for the same course/stage of study.

Scholarship Amount

Course Level Scholarship Amount
Pre-Matric (Class 9 & 10) ₹1,000 per month
Post-Matric (HS, UG, PG) ₹10,000 per year

How to Apply

To apply for the Nabanna Scholarship, visit the official Chief Minister's Relief Fund portal at: cmrf.wb.gov.in. Students need to provide the following documents:

  • Class 10 Admit Card (for verification of student’s name)
  • Guardian’s name
  • Class 10 Roll No. and Year
  • Complete address with PIN code
  • Mobile number (for OTP verification)
  • Bank details (A/C number, IFSC code, Bank Name & Branch)
